A cultural immersion through San Salvador’s history, the Flower Route’s coffee and cacao towns, and the Maya ruins of Tazumal and Joya de Cerén.

Itinerary

Day 1 – San Salvador / Night City Tour Airport pickup and hotel check-in. In the evening, an illuminated night tour of the Historic Center, including the National Palace, the National Library, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and Archbishop Romero’s tomb, ending at the National Theater and a craft shop. Continue to Puerta del Diablo for panoramic views, then enjoy a welcome dinner of typical food at a local restaurant. Overnight stay.

Day 2 – San Salvador / Markets and Museums Breakfast included. Visit San Miguelito Market, a colorful hub of local trade and tradition, then the Museum of the Word and Image, dedicated to the country’s historical and cultural memory. Continue to Cuscatlán Park and the Salarrué National Exhibition Hall, featuring contemporary art from national and international artists. Overnight stay in San Salvador.

Day 3 – San Salvador / Flower Route Breakfast included. Travel to Jayaque for a Cacao Tour covering cultivation, harvest, and production of chocolate. Continue to the Flower Route to visit the colonial towns of Ataco and Apaneca, known for their colorful murals, cool climate, and local traditions. Overnight stay.

Day 4 – San Salvador / Ataco / Tazumal / Joya de Cerén / San Salvador Breakfast included. Visit the El Carmen coffee plantation to learn the process from drying to export, with a coffee tasting. Explore the town of Ataco, with its cobblestone streets, murals, and colonial church. Visit Tazumal, El Salvador’s most important Maya archaeological site (100–1200 AD), including its 24-meter pyramid and ballcourt. Finish at Joya de Cerén, the «Pompeii of the Americas,» a Maya village preserved by a volcanic eruption. Return to San Salvador. Overnight stay.

Day 5 – San Salvador / Airport Breakfast included. Transfer to the airport at the scheduled time. End of services.

  • Prices are in US dollars; rates are net, non-commissionable.
  • Child rate applies to ages 2–11 sharing a room with parents, maximum 2 children per room.
  • Rates are subject to change without prior notice and are valid through December 2026 (confirm separately for high season: Holy Week, first week of August, Christmas holidays).
  • Prices do not include personal expenses or gratuities for porters, driver, and guide.
  • Hotels are subject to confirmation and availability at booking; if the listed hotel is unavailable, a similar one will be confirmed.
